By making the area have good reflectance (shiny) the touch up paint will blend into the area better and not stand out. This is how a PRO would approach this type of repair; Remove as much of the defects (scratches) as possible in the clear coat, then apply touch up paint. How To Remove Bugs What To Do When You Scratched The Paint

Summer is the time for bugs and they can wreak havoc on unprotected paint…let alone what you might innocently do to the paint trying to remove them while washing your car.   If you protect your paint finish and remove bugs properly it will eliminate the need for a car scratch remover.

Bugs have a chemical make up that will attack the paint and over time deteriorate the clear coat.  They should be cleaned off frequently if bugs are bad in your hood.  The bugs must be properly loosened and dissolved and gently wiped away with a micro fiber towel or soft micro fiber wash mitt.   I am NOT a big fan of any type of “bug scrubbing sponge”.  It takes hardley any extra time to do it safely and your car paint finish will love you for it.

I have a excellent PRE-Shampoo in my store designed specifically for loosening up dried bugs, it can be mixed with a gallon of water to do a pre wash on the bug areas or  concentrated in a spray bottle to soak the little critters.  www.CSRstore.com (its in the “Pro Size” catagory)

Protection is key. If you put a coat of my Extreme Paint Sealant on the entire car twice a year, any perhaps once a month in the summer the bugs will not stick to the paint and will come off very easily.   Its important you use a quality car wash shampoo with the proper pH so it does not remove the sealant protection if you need to wash frequently in the summer.  I have a super concentrated high suds shampoo in my store check it out.  Its called Supreme Car Wash Shampoo w/Luster Enhancers.

This video shows how to remove some very serious clear coat scratch damage caused by a common kitchen scrubbing sponge.  This sponge is the type that has either green or white soft abrasive for cleaning pots and pans.

This type of sponge should never get within 20 miles of your car!  They can cause severe damage in the blink of an eye.

The Ultimate Car Scratch Remover will remove this type of scratch easily.

How To Protect Your Car Paint Finish From Car Scratches This Summer

Spring is here and have you ever wondered what has the biggest impact on fending off car scratches and hopefully not needing car scratch remover?  It is something that you might not consider as your first line of defense when trying to protect your car finish against car scratches and the need for car scratch removers.  The best strategy to protect your paint this summer is to keep it clean and keep it protected.  I am going to give you a strategy to keep the car finish on your car, truck, SUV, minivan etc protected.

Step one, keeping the paint finish clean:  Good way.  Keep your  car paint clean as is reasonable given weather conditions.  Avoid automatic car washes since they are notorious for inflicting micro car paint scratches.  Hand wash at home (weather permitting) or take your vehicle to a do it yourself wash, only use clean micro fiber towels for cleaning or drying.

Best way. The best way to keep your paint finish clean this summer and avoid wasting precious water resources is with a modern waterless car wash system.  This consists of a special spray and micro fiber towel which removes road grit and dirt without water and without scratching the paint finish.  The finest waterless car wash systems contain an acrylic polymer that bonds to the paint to create a slick barrier that repels grit and prevents road grit and dirt from sticking to the paint finish.  Go to WashYourCarWithoutWater.com for more information.

Step Two; keep your car paint finish protected: Your first line of defense against the sun UV rays is a quality automotive paint sealant.   Modern professional paint sealants are the best way to ensure your paint finish stays in tip top shape year round.

The modern automotive paint finish sealant; sealant technology originally came from the aircraft industry.   Chemist cleverly developed a synthetic formulas that actually bond chemically to the paint finish and lasts for 6-8 months! Because of the chemistry, sealants deliver a very hard coating that is extremely slippery…and happens to be about the best protection you can get from ordinary scuffs and scratches, superior UV protection and  of course abusive automatic carwashes!

A typical auto wax found in an auto parts store simply doesn’t cut it in the real world for real lasting protection. Typically ordinary car wax only lasts for approx 2 weeks.  Ordinary car wax simply washes away and evaporates very quickly.

If you have any car finish questions relating to car paint scratches and find out about The Ultimate Car Scratch Remover  and get a free video and tip sheet to find out exactly how to remove car scratches and prevent them.
